NO LABELS. JUST USEFUL CLUES.

You do not need perfect measurements or one exact body type. Start with how ready-made clothes usually fit, then use the optional checks below.

01

Start with clothing fit

If many clothes feel too short

Sleeves and trousers finish early, or dress waists sit too high.

If tops fit differently from bottoms

Your upper and lower body may have different proportions. Continue to the simple checks below.

02

Compare your upper body and legs

Stand naturally in front of a mirror. Notice where your natural waist sits between your shoulders and the floor. You can also compare a comfortable top length with your usual trouser rise.

Your shoulder-to-waist area looks longer

Your legs may look shorter in comparison, and long tops may take up more of your outfit.

Your legs look longer

High-rise trousers may come very high, and cropped tops may look extra short.

Notice where you need extra room

More room through the chest

Buttons may pull, jacket fronts may not close, or a dress waist may rise at the front.

OPTIONAL MEASUREMENT CHECK

Three simple measurements

  1. Shoulder to natural waist: measure straight down from the top of your shoulder.
  2. Natural waist to floor: measure from your waist to the floor without shoes.
  3. Chest, waist and hip: compare these only to understand where clothing needs more room—not to decide what you are allowed to wear.

Measurements are clues, not a test. Clothing brands also use different sizing and proportions.
